JJ BOV B&W

As part of my job teaching at the Savannah College of Art and Design, I’ve been asked to arrange for animation filmmakers to come down to the Atlanta campus for a series of talks. I’m delighted to say the first of these, on Tuesday, October 21st, is J.J. Sedelmaier, co-founder and Creative Director of J.J. Sedelmaier Productions. in White Plains, NY, one of the country’s premiere commercial houses.  The studio’s work, though, also extends to print ads, comic strips and, of course, such items as The Ambiguously Gay Duo and other material for Saturday Night Live‘s Saturday TV Funhouse.

The studio’s other credits include the first season of Beavis and Butt-Head, the 1993 relaunch of Schoolhouse Rock, the pilot episode of Harvey Birdman Attorney at Law, and most recently, the creation of all designs and animation for the first season of the Colbert Report’s Tek Jansen cartoon series. This is, of course, in addition to their cutting edge Speed Racer, Slim Jim, FootJoy, Hotwire and 7UP TV commercials. 7-Up International commercial

J.J.’s talk, which is free and open to the public,  will be held Tuesday, October 21st, at 7:30 pm, at SCAD-Atlanta, 1600 Peachtree St., NW, in the Welcome Center on the 2nd floor. Seating is limited. So, if you are in the Atlanta area next week, do stop on by.
